ICPI Installation Steps/Guide

Every project is different regarding installation, but the general process can be outlined as:

1. Demo and Excavate up to 5″- 9″, depending of installation site, of the existing surface. Remove all debris and haul it away to a qualified recycling center.

2. Compact Native Soil to ensure a firm base.

3. Installation of Geo-Textile Fabric Barrier.

4. Install up to 2”- 3” of Class II Road Base for Pedestrian areas or 3”- 6” for vehicular areas

5. Check and address all drainage and slope to 1% to 2% – water must move away from structures toward drains, if applicable, or toward street.  Compact Base up to 95% compaction ratio.

6. Install up to 1” of sand bedding for pavers.

7. Install desired Pavers to chosen paver layout – 60mm residential pavers and 80mm commercial-grade pavers only for certain applications.

8. Install regular-shaped angled joint sand depending on the paver and project. Polymeric sand is optional and used in certain applications

9. Use a plate compactor to compact the sand down into the paver joints

10. Hose off, wash down, and clean pavers

11. Depending on contract/project, apply Color Enhancing Paver Sealer (optional)
